Programme Information
As the first of its kind in the Caribbean, this programme is unique, combining dual fields of Special Education and Applied Behaviour Analysis, thus meeting the vision of changing the world, one life at a time. Graduates of this programme will be:
- Prepared to fill needed service demands in schools, homes and community settings
- Trained to consult in the assessment, design, implementation and evaluation of behavioural interventions for a variety of learners
Students completing the Bachelors of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis will be eligible to sit the Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification exam with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). The BCaBA is an undergraduate level certification in behaviour analysis. Students must complete coursework that covers the required content outlined in the BACB’s Fourth Edition Task List and complete 1000 hours of supervised fieldwork experience that complies with the Experience Standards in order to sit the certification exam. Students who gain certification at the BCaBA level should not practice independently but under the supervision of someone certified at the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) level or doctoral level (BCBA-D).
