In 1967 Ted Weitzel was hired to take over lronshore Estates. For a year, he travelled back and forth to Jamaica and in 1968 the decision was made to have Ted move to Montego Bay with his wife and three children. In 1970 Ted was hired by the Rose Hall Development Company to manage the conversion of a sugar plantation to a real estate development. They lived there until moving back to the United States in 1978.
From 1970 to 1972 Ted actively taught adult extension classes for JTS, in the western part of Jamaica. He also represented the western Missionary Churches on the JTS Board until 1978. While living in Florida, Ted continues to support and be active in helping to raise funds for JTS.
Mrs. Debbie Foster

In 1968 Debra Foster’s father, Ted Weitzel, moved his family to Montego Bay, Jamaica. She met her husband, Andrew Foster, at Rosemount Missionary Church. Because of her father’s active involvement with Jamaica Theological Seminary (JTS), Andrew joined the Board of JTS and helped Ted establish “Friends of JTS,” a registered with US IRS approval to solicit funds for JTS. Working alongside Andrew in that effort, Debra was fully aware of their very important contribution to JTS. When Andrew passed, she took his place on the Friends Board. She is pleased to work with a Board of very talented and dedicated people who are assisting JTS with financial support.
